About The Artist

Goal and Purpose as an Artist

Nature, color and light have always been what inspires me, they move my soul. In my artwork I try to represent the vastness yet interest to the smallest detail God took in creating this world. Being continually inspired by the nature around me while spending as much time as possible in the great outdoors, I hope to challenge others to see the beauty in everything around them. If, by creating art, I can help just one person contemplate that if God takes such care in what we often consider the most insignificant of His creation, how much more must He care for them, then I have reached my goal as an artist.

Favorite Pastimes

As I stated above, I love to spend as much time as possible in the great outdoors. Currently my favorite pasttimes are walking/hiking, gardening, kayaking and biking. Besides the above activities I love to read, practice my hand at interior design, sew, cook, and of course eat what I've cooked. Most of all I treasure the times I have with my family when we can get together.

Family

I live with my husband, Fred, in Southwest Washington and have four grown children, who have for the most part, left the building--only to return for extended visits when need be.

Training

Well, let's see... I took an intro to drawing class, I guess that counts for something. Actually, it counts for a lot! Before taking that class I never had the confidence to try portraits; after the class, there's nothing I won't try.
